My Training:
My view on training is that you can have certs to fill up a file cabinet, but if don't have the street smarts to use it, than you are more dangerous than a proby. Train well and often, and always take the advice of older members and officers.
About Me:
I have a wonderful wife that has currently passed her EMT and is still waiting for "her call". I have a son from a previous marrige that is 10 y/o and has had diabeties since he was 4. I also have a step-daughter that is 7 and is starting her 1st year of soccer. We have a lot along the river that we go to every chance we get just to get away. We all love camping, fishing, hiking and anything outdoors. My son and I are currently in a project of putting his first AR together, and hopefully, in a couple of years, I will do the same with my daughter (she wants it pink). But other than that, is all simple, just ask and I will tell ya.
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My family was either drunks or, like my father, worked like a dog everyday and got nowhere in his life. So, when my son was born, I decided that it was time I got my crap together and look into something that my son can look upto me for. When I did a ride along in Charlotte, NC, I was hooked. Haven't looked back ever since and my son now what's to be a mechanic ! That's karma I guess.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
To be hated until they need you......HAHA
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Staffing / Volunteer members...Money / Funding...Equipment...and I can on and on, but we all know what we need.

Good for you Jeff, rising up from your upbringing.  I know how that is.  Be proud of your career and your family.  I know you earned it.
