My grandfather, father, brothers, and niece wereand are all volunteer firefighters The only reason my brother is not anymore is he has MS. Our fire station in Lawrence Park is still there for my brother helping in anyway they can, and my other brother and his wife are First Responsers for there local volunreer station. I grew up in our firehall in Lawrence Park a small town in Erie pa. I remember growing up always being there, when there was a call my mom and sisters always were there making sandwiches and coffee. We recentely lost one of our brothers Michael Crotty and it has brought back so many memories. My dad was the CPR teacher so all of us kids knew Annie the CPR dummy real well HaHa. I was always curious about his class I asked a lot of questions sometimes I think I asked to many but he always answered them. To this day I am certified in CPR and first aid I do not let them run out. Although it was not in my future to be a firefighter because of medical reasons I still support them. You are all my family I may not be married to a firefighter or EMS but it is in my blood I was raised a firefighters daughter and will die that way. A fire station has a auora that is of sacifrace and courage of smoke and must it is a smell that I love when I walk into any firehall in any state it floods me with memories.
