  Hi Shaun, My name is Greg, I am a firefighter in Illinois. I retired from the USAF Reserves and have several DOD cert's. The illinois state fire marshal's office will not accept the certs for face value but will allow you credit for the training and will allow you to challenge the tests associated with each cert. I had not heard about the pro board thing though. We are a civil service home rule community as apposed to having a police and fire board. I have heard that the certs are woth points on departments with boards instead of civil service. Good Luck
