Profile Information:

Type of Organization
Fire/Rescue Department - Volunteer
Job Function
Captain
Years in Fire/EMS:
47
Primary Fire/EMS Department:
Rangeley Fire/Rescue

My Training:
My training file is full of certificates from training that I have attended in my 45 years in the fire service.
The best training I ever got however was working with my brother firefighters. Every call is a new learning experience.
Going to the school of hard knocks is the best way to learn!
About Me:
I am an old timer but still answer the bell whien it rings.
I want to keep on fighting the Red Devil till the day I die!
I hate it when the Red Devil wins.

My hobby is collecting firefighter pins, emblems, and badges world wide.
(I would be honored if you sent me a badge)
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Being in fire/rescue is what I always wanted . When you can help someone that is beyond helping themselves it is a very rewarding experience.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
FireFighters do not preach the brotherhood of man --they live it
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Keeping up with the manditory training requirements in a small town volunteer dept is difficult and finding young people to stay on the department long term.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Full timers face reductions in staffing of equipment and this is a real safety issue.
