Well, first of all, if you are being offered a Feb. '08 contract it is almost certainly a winter contract. That means within probably a week of you getting here, winter season will start, it will be 24 hours of darkness most of the time, and here are no flights in or out at all until late August. So if you end up not liking it here...you would be stuck. The people here are great, and there is tons of great stuff to do. Honestly, everyone who has done a winter says it is much more laid back and more fun that summer.

They didn't require really any, Its a vrey political private departmnet, And you'll really beed to watch your back safety wise. Just keep trying?
Its an awesome experiance if you take take alot of stupid crap for a few months. But thats everywhere? to a certain extent? Have all sorts of info if u need, Not paperwork, but other info on the chief etc. good luck, Phil

My experience was good, although when I was there we had a different Chief and she kicked ass. I don't know much about the new guy but I hear that things aren't quite as fun down there anymore, which is too bad. I agree with what PHIL said below, very big into politics and watch your tail!!! And if they did offer you a Feb contract then that is over winter, AKA NO SUNLIGHT. And NO flights are available. I chose not to do winter due to my dad's health, if something had happened to him, I wouldn't be able to return. Just make sure you give it some real deep thought before saying yes. Keep in contact, I've got tons more input. Stay safe!
