Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I'm not gonna say that it was to help my community or that I wanted to since I was a kid. Those seem to be the universal reasons by everyone. Although I will say, that I've become closer to my community since I've been in the service. For me it was initally for the excitment. But as I went along, it became more.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It allows me to improvise and presents new challenges on each call.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I would have to say a combination of training,funding,and recruitment. Seems like there is less and less of these, and its putting a strain on all of us.

    Give me directions to fayette!!! LOL I prefer the 911 style ems without a doubt. Don't mind doing more than one dept simply because that seems to be the way to get started. Our dept is always taking people also. I'm taking fire training in Jan. Soooo get me some directions to fayette and let me know where HR is!!! Any leads you can get me would be awesome!!!

    Yeah still in sterling, but Mike let his card drop. He works so many hours at the S.O. that he just didn't have time for it anymore. I'm teaching basics out at Tolles now(be afraid..be very afraid) But other than that not much. Gonna start 240 in February and then thinking about goin back to medic school. Just not sure if I want to give up a year of my life for that! Are you gonna go back to Pic Ross?
