Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, Lisle, Illinois
My Training:
Various certifications through Illinois & Georgia and NPQ Fire Officer II, Instructor III, Investigator I, Inspector I, Public Fire Education Officer I, Fire Apparatus Operator & Haz-Mat Operations; EMT-I, Various college courses (never have finished), by this time hundreds of seminars, FDIC's, Command Schools, Chiefs conferences, DOD courses, etc...
About Me:
Married with two grown children (the best wife and kids), like to work and enjoy what I do. Interests at FD other than operating a shift every third day as a Shift Commander include apparatus specification, equipment specification and purchasing and coming up with ideas for departmental improvment.
Just fell into it - but love it - borrowing a phrase I've heard more than once from Chief John Leahy (Ret. Pittsburg) - "I won the lottery" - his reference to being hired into the fire service
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I'ts different every day
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Staffing and budgets (especially under the currant economic climate)
