I joined initially to integrate into a new town but after getting to know the lads I would be working with everything changed. Now my kids are proud of what I have achieved getting in and recently passing my truck driving test so hopefully with time make Driver Mechanic.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I now know what I do actually makes a difference. The relief on someones face when you arrive makes it all worth while.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Everthing challenges responders evryday, never knowing what your going to face from one day to the next. On going training is a must because its too easy to get complacent and a good support network.
Darren, Welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.
I was at the Fire service College with a few guys from Ireland. They got some of that pochine or what ever you guys called it. Homemade fire water....It was a great night but that stuff had a real kick to it and a few guys were lost on the way..lo....lJust keep enjoying the job. it is the best job in the world.
