Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I first started in the EMS field after my met who's now my husband. I saw how involved he was in the Fire and Rescue Dept. I saw how the need was there to help other people. I felt I needed to give back to the community to help others in a time of need.

After being in it about 2 yrs. I got into a bad car wreck. Then realized how many people come together to help one of their own. From then I realized how badly it was needed that I had to help out. I felt more empowered to help. I had stayed in the hospital for a month, missed my kids growing and had to learn to walk again. I wasn't even cleared by the MD yet and was back on the ambulance volunteering. Didn't really do alot because no one would let me. But it felt good just to get back in the action. When I was finally cleared by my MD I was ready to come back full force. Since then I have taken everyday as it comes and have realized you're not just automatically gonna get another day but the Lord decides if you live another day.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
being able to help people in a time that they feel they need help, and being able to work with people that are there for the same general reason.
