About Me:
Still live in my hometown, not too big & not too small. For those of you who can't find Effingham on Yahoo!Maps, we are just outside of Savannah,GA.
After high school I did what all good little girls do = went to college & earned my degree (BSED) in teaching. Taught in various schools close by. But when the fire department hired their next round in 2006, I applied & was hired. Effingham's first career female firefighter!
On my third year as career, but love the vols (that's where I started). Not only do we put the wet stuff on the hot stuff, we handle vehicle extrication, special rescue, high/low angle rope rescue, wilderness SAR, & respond throughout the area & state to assist other departments (lookin out for our brothers & sisters).
I participate in the fire prevention/education activities (aka "Twinkle" the fire clown), PIO, & as we joke - ANY OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
In high school, I had to have a certain number of hours for community service/volunteering. I wanted to do something other than the typical recycling collection/animal shelter stuff. I knew of a few other teens that were volunteer firefighters, and I asked to tag along one training night. The training officer found a set of gear to fit me and had me capture a burst hose line. I fell in love with it and signed up that night.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I get to drive the BRT!

Hey! I am great! How are you? I am hoping to join a volenteer program somewhere near home (I live in Guyton), but I haven't settled on where yet. I am also still trying to convince my parents that this is what I want to do.
