Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I've worked in the medical field most of my life, I was always thinking about bieng a 1st responder, finally did. Fire was the next natural step.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Helping others in their time of need.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Funding. To many rural agencies are using equipment that is not up to modern standards. Many are running with trucks 30 plus years old.

As for the EMS portion, there should be a distinction between the fire and EMS portion of your department. This would help for funding via grants. We are lucky here, our ambulance service replaces everything we use on a call for no charge.

    Sorry I have not been on here if forever. I got a promotion at my job, which means I am crazy busy..

    I have been meaning to send you a message about the accident. I saw that your department was dispatched! Sorry.. I thought about you right after I heard about it, remembering your April 8th message to me saying you hoped you never had to be involved in a fire fatalility call. Shitty-- I guess as hard as it is to accept we will have that in this field.

    Well I hope all is well with you, take care. I am headin up that way tonight to go to the BIG town of Pelkie~ My fiancee is in Vegas for his bacholer party (eeks, I want no details) So its girls night.. I will try to be on here more often to respond to people.. But If I do not make it to the Baraga "party" I WILL surely be at the Houghton one July 24!
