My Training:
Enough to keep me out of trouble I hope. NC. FF 1&2, DoD FF 1&2, DoD Airfield FF, Dod Airfield App. Operator, DoD App. Operator, DoD. Haz-Mat Ops., DoD FO1, NFA ICS, Wildland FF, US Air Force Level 3 & 5 FF, and a lot more to make over 3500 hrs that you get a little piece of paper for and still leaning
About Me:
I belong to a lot of fire companies. I wanted to learn a lot fast when I started as a ff. I'm active in all of them when ever I'm around except now Eng.3. because Reading is almost all paid and you have to go through their training to run with them so I was told. I was a lot more active when I was a DoD ff because, 1 I had more money and could travel more and 2, I had more time because I had 4, 5 day breaks a year and could tack some leave on that time.My brother is a vol ff and now my niece is taking her FF 1&2. My wife is the first dispatcher the Fort Bragg Fire Dept. hired. That's how I met her. Its in the family.
Day Job:
FF/ Lt. Flat Branch Fire Dept
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My dad , 2 of 3 uncles, grand dad on mothers side of family all truckies Northumberland Hook & Ladder. When the alarm sounded people moved. It gets in the blood I guess.....but so does disease
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Why not
Top Issues Facing Responders:
No money, more & more training makes it hard to get and keep vollies, no money, makes it hard to keep paid companies fully staffed or opened. no money and people think we have nothing to do if we are not fighting fires & no money
