Hello Tyler, just wanted to stop by and say hello, and make sure you didnt take my post personally. It was not aimed at you, just frustrated about the quality of forum topics lately is all.
In my department chiefs wear white (Some just helmets, others have the full set of white gear), for the most part line officers are red helmets, safety officers are yellow/orange, firefighters are black lids and we do not have any proby designation.
In my past department on Long Island NY, probies wore yellow helmets with a big "P" on the shield, firefighters-black, Lieutenants and captains wore their black helmets but with white shileds with either the Lt or Captain bars on them, chiefs wore all white with the gold leaf shields and trumpets.
Stay safe and I look forward to chatting with you.
