About Me:
I am from Small Town, U.S.A. I decided that after high school I wanted to serve my country, so I enlisted into the United States Coast Guard and served for six years as a Gunners Mate Third Class. I was deployed to New York City the evening of 11 September 2001. I take pride in my service and pride in my brothers and sisters in the U.S. Coast Guard. After my enlistment ended, I returned home to West Virginia and began to work for the West Virginia Division of Corrections. After seeing how well my tax dollars were being put to use I left and enrolled in the Forestry program at West Virginia University. After attending WVU for three years I decided that I needed a change in scenery and moved to Kentucky. I now attend Eastern Kentucky University studying Fire Protection Administration.
On a personal note, I am a 32 years old, who loves life. I love what I do as a volunteer and would lay my life down for anyone of my brothers and sisters in the fire service. I do what I do because I love what I do. I am not a hero nor a saint, but what I am is a man who wants to help. I am a laid back person who will give you the shirt off my back or the last dollar in my pocket.
I joined the fire service because I wanted to help those in need. I love fighting fire.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love the fire service because here we have a bond that can never be broken. We are brothers and sisters perhaps not by blood or by birth, but by a common love. A love to help those in need and a love of the calling to serve our community. When a brother or sister falls in the line of duty, we morn as a family because we are a family. Our blood runs red like that of a fire. WE will always be family.
