About Me:
My name is Grant Allen. I am a FF/EMT B-IV in Southwestern Colorado. Been a volunteer for 5 years with Dove Creek Fire Department. In 2009 I became an EMT and joined Dove Creek Ambulance. In 2010 I was hired with Cortez Fire Department.

From 2006 to 2010 I ran my families farm in Southwestern Colorado in the Dove Creek Area. I loved it but not as much as I love being a firefighter. Currently I am on leave from all of those and in Dallas, Texas in Paramedic School at UT Southwestern. I live and breath fire/ems.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Originally I just joined to help out and to hang out with the guys on the department. Of course I soon fell in love with it the more calls that I ran.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I am totally fascinated with fire behavior, I love helping people, I love being the guy that people trust with their lives, and I love the camaraderie with my fellow firefighters.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of access to vital essential training, communication (always), and the always growing legality of doing our job.
