level 2 firefighter, emt-b, hazmat tech, confined space (entry, rescue, and supervisor) basic and advanced rope rescue.
About Me:
I am a country girl at heart. I love firefighting and wouldnt trade it for the world. I am also a competitor in the Firefighter Combat Challenge. My coed tandem partner and I have qualified for the worlds competition in Las Vegas, Nevada in November. I also love to play sports as well.
Jessica, Welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.
we had one back in june lol this guy was done for when he woke up that mornin he must have done somthin real bad
he was working on the pivot got electricuted then got his leg cutt off by the header then got ran over by the combine i think he was dead when he got electricuted because there wasnt that much blood around where his leg got cut off not like arterial bleeding hope you dont get one of those
well the first one i had been to was a 14 year old kid that was trying to clean the windshield and fell and went ALL the way threw can you say mashed taters
Jessica, the fire deptartment I belong to now serves about 8,000 people with 3 stations, but the one I used to belong to the main service area has a township of a toltal of 300 people thier total service area of about 200sq miles and 5 townships in 2 different counties with 7 active fully volly members now thats a small town fire company am I wrong?
ha! that's awesome. Congrads on passing your training. When I moved Down Under, I had to re-do all of my basic again. It's actually kind of cool when you already sort of know what you are doing.
I to belong to a Dept now instead of a company. My Dept has 3 stations and 3 engines, 2 heavy rescues, 2 tankers, 1 light rescue, 1 brush truck, one boat, one hazmat/special ops trailer 1 100' tower. my station has the best truck ever, a 1936 dodge brothers ladder truck :-) my station has like 45 active member, un aware of the other 2 stations, im guessing combined the whole dept has atleast 100 active members
To all my good friends. Thank you so much for all your patients during this past year. All of you are such great friends and I am so proud to be your friend. To those who trade with me patches thank you again. You really made me feel good and I will walk the extra mile for you. I do hope that all of you will have only the best of times with your family and friends. Merry Christmas to you all and GOD bless you all. Warm greetings from adel in Africa algerie
Hey Jessica. Sounds like your in need of some mutual aid up there. You must stay pretty busy running two depts. We have picked up a little this month. Mainly MVAs and small brush fires. stay safe out there and chat anytime. AJ
Semi must have been a challenge. I'll be going to Katy Extrication school next month, need all the practice I can get. You never know what your gonna roll up on. We cover a fairly busy state highway, route to a port. And it is drying up so we should be getting some brush calls. Bring on the action. Ha! As long as no one is hurt of course.
