Jessica, the fire deptartment I belong to now serves about 8,000 people with 3 stations, but the one I used to belong to the main service area has a township of a toltal of 300 people thier total service area of about 200sq miles and 5 townships in 2 different counties with 7 active fully volly members now thats a small town fire company am I wrong?
  • Vic Silverfish

ha! that's awesome. Congrads on passing your training. When I moved Down Under, I had to re-do all of my basic again. It's actually kind of cool when you already sort of know what you are doing.

    Cheers

I to belong to a Dept now instead of a company. My Dept has 3 stations and 3 engines, 2 heavy rescues, 2 tankers, 1 light rescue, 1 brush truck, one boat, one hazmat/special ops trailer 1 100' tower. my station has the best truck ever, a 1936 dodge brothers ladder truck :-) my station has like 45 active member, un aware of the other 2 stations, im guessing combined the whole dept has atleast 100 active members

  • Doug Eiche

    hey how is it going?
  • A.J. Timmer

Hey Jessica. Sounds like your in need of some mutual aid up there. You must stay pretty busy running two depts. We have picked up a little this month. Mainly MVAs and small brush fires. stay safe out there and chat anytime. AJ
  • A.J. Timmer

Semi must have been a challenge. I'll be going to Katy Extrication school next month, need all the practice I can get. You never know what your gonna roll up on. We cover a fairly busy state highway, route to a port. And it is drying up so we should be getting some brush calls. Bring on the action. Ha! As long as no one is hurt of course.
