Why I Joined Fire/EMS: A friend, and FF and EMT, Dave D. talked me into it......seriously... Plus while responding, in a support role, I learned that I needed to be more involved, I needed to be one of those guys in full PPE going into the building to find the fire. The quality of the character of the people on the fire brigade made me want to be one of them.
Why I Love Fire/EMS: Intense training, a feeling that you can make a difference.
Top Issues Facing Responders:: Not that this has been an issue with our department but from talking with others. Lack of funding for the level of training required and equipment.
