About Me:
Hi my name is Cindy. I am currently serving in the United States Navy working as an aviation mechanic. I went to school to be an EMT right out of high school and a year later I joined the Navy. I planned on going to school to be a paramedic but joined the military so I could get money for school because I couldnt afford it and unfortunately the EMS department in my town was only hiring part time and I needed fulltime work. I did what I needed to do to survive but I deeply regret not pursuing my EMS career before I joined the Navy. Its okay though because I'm serving my country so in the end I'm serving others.... I plan on getting out at the end of my enlistment and doing the National Guard parttime and pursuing my career as a paramedic. I really want to be a flight medic. In upstate New York if you belong to a VFD or squad the EMT class is free, If not it is about $600 plus $75 for books. Good luck.

When you do get your EMT take the national test. it is easier to transfer around the states.
