Welcome to the Nation from Knoxville, TN...across the big pond. I hope things are starting to calm down in oz. I've been praying for you guys down there. I know you have had your hands full!!!!! Take care and stay safe.
G'day Mel. I've been with the NSWFB for 11 years now. I also worked for the Qld Fire & Rescue Service for 5 years, so been doing it for about 16 years all up. Not much has been happening up this way, heaps of AFA's but thats about it! I guess thats a good thing really!! Cheers...Geoffro :)
Ahhhh, 32 Station eh! Nice new (ish) station at Surfers! I live about 30 mins south of that station, just accross the border (only just!). Yeah, we spent about an hour the other night investigating "smoke in the vicinity" coz ppl kept calling it in. Turned out it was smoke drifting down from Queensland! I don't envy you guys at all down in Vic!
Yeh, wasnt good down there at all! A few blokes from my area went down as part of a Task Force, but I was on leave so I didnt go anywhere. I was up at Caboolture when I was with the QFRS. We didnt have a pole, but we had a half - half station! One half was for the firies and the other half for the Ambos. We had combined mess rooms etc, and when the Ambos were short staffed theyd steal one of us to the the Ambulance for them. It worked quite well! Was a huge station though
hey mel how are things down that way i am looking into moving down to riddleds creek an djoining the fire brigade there i hope that i will be there soon stay safe hey could you send me a cfa patch as i am a collector here is my postal address
Thanks Mel for the invite, Today I'm home enjoying the rain "NOT" I worked at the ambulance station at Sale for 5 years now back in the Valley. Any updates on putting paid staff in at Sale or is it all a CFA propergander.
Keep in touch and Stay Safe.
Leo
