Why I Joined Fire/EMS
WHEN I WAS YOUNGER MY FATHER WAS A FIREMAN. HE USE TO TAKE US EVEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT TO FIRES. I REMEMBER SITTING IN THE CAR AND THINKING "THATS WHAT I WANT TO DO." SO WHEN I TURNED 16 I DID JUST THAT 26 YEARS LATER STILL GOING IN. COLD AND COMING OUT HOT. THEN WHEN I WAS 18 I JOINED THE RESCUE SQUAD.. LOVE HELPING PEOPLE

TOO MUCH TRAINING. START NO MORE EMT BASIC AND EMT 1 AND SO ONE.. EMT 1 GETS TO SCENE ABLE TO START IVS AND APPLY MONITOR SO EMT 2 GETS ON SCENE THINGS A DONE.. EVERY THREE YEARS TO RENEW TOO MUCH WITH THE WAY THINGS ARE IN THE WORLD.. AFTER 5 YEAR OF BEING A EMT RENEW EVERY 5 10 YEARS NO MORE . QUICK REFRESHERS THAT'S IT... TOOO MUCH TRAINING.. I KNOW IT'S FOR SAFETY,BUT PEOPLE CAN NOT DEVOTE THAT TIME ANY MORE..

    Floyd Sr was my dad and my mom was Beverly Drake. like I said dad was from Edwards and mom from Talcville. I havent been home for 16 yrs since my mom passed in 92. I live 3 miles from DC in Md and was one of the Technicians on DCFD T9 in Adams Morgan Section of city. we were the 6th busiest trucks in the city. maybe you can help me , I need some patches from home. All I got is one from Gouvernuer RS and i got that back in the 80's I think. If ya can help I'll get ya some from down here. I'm staying at the Clearview and be there until sometime Sat. Afternoon,eveing or so. Where you work at ?? EJ Noble??

The hard part is tomorrow. starts at 11 in Edwards@ French's. and then to Fairview and we are going to put flowers on moms grave too. I dont know if Im going to be able to get to the FD or RS!!
