It's in my blood. My Grandfather joined when he was 16 years old, my Dad joined at 18, and my Uncle at 18. My Grandfather was also the Chief my whole life. When he passes away in 2004 we think he was the longest active member of a dept in the nation, at 67 years. Firefighting is our whole family. I love these guys!

I'm a Florida Firefighter, running the Flying Pig in Cincy next year in HONOR of a Brother that passed away in 2003 while fighting a residential structure fire. He left behind a fiancee, two son's and a daughter on the way. I'm sure if your a FF in Ohio you've heard of the name (Firefighter Oscar Armstrong III was the victim). Anyway I'm running the entire marathon in bunker gear (helmet, jacket, pants, air pack and running shoes). All money raised will go to the children of Oscar Armstrong III. Thanks for the ad, please tell any Ohio FF's you know. I'm just trying to get the word out. I'm on my Dept. Honor Guard. Making plans as we speak to attend the annual Memorial in Emittsburg, Md. Thanks again! Stay safe!

Thanks Heather, anyone around the country can make a donation at any Fifth 3rd Bank using account #20311455, make checks payable to the Firefighter Oscar Armstrong III Memorial Fund. Thanks again! Yes, I will need plenty of fluids, I'm hoping it will be a cold day in May 08. I hear its not bad, I know the humidity will be alot better there then it is in Florida.
