Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I love helping people, and I love knowing that everytime I get called out it will be something different! I'm a volunteer firefighter and going to school to be a paramedic and I love it all!!
Why I Love Fire/EMS: It's non-stop excitement and I have a second family!!
Top Issues Facing Responders:: Not enough money for volunteer departments to get all the equipment that we so crucially need to protect our community!

Hey just wanted to say hi and say thanks for volunteering. I'm a volly FF here in upstate NY and just received my NY State Paramedic certifications last night!! Looking for a Paid position, but just love when I see new volunteers-God knows we need more people to help with the overwhelming need in this country.

Right! Some of the guys were there for me, but it was mostly the ones that knew me before I joined and had seen me in training. When the Chief only has officers that work in the county he does it's hard to get anywhere. Anyways, i hope all his well and stay safe!

He was in my program for awhile, then we hired him on where he was my jr. guy on the shift. Eventually he went to Ft Riley. I hear now hear he is in a Paramedic program and working around Abilene. He's a good kid, haven't heard from him in awhile.

Hey I bet your trip was awesome! Just returned myself from Texas for a horse show. So are you still confused and tired of being a sheltered little girl? All I can say is hold on, it will all make more sense when you see it once, or twice and if the chief likes putting you on the spot, that sucks and does not do much for building confidence... BTW I don't care what you say, girls in firegear is cute... even though you ARE tough enough. Stay safe :)
