I am 16 yrs old and have helped with the Ordway Volunteer Fire Department for nearly 8 years. I love my job as a volunteer because it is fun and an excellent expericence. This is definatly a career that I am fit for.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I joined FIRE/EMS because I love helping people in need. I love being able to make someone feel secure and just assuring them that everything is going to be alright. I am about helping make sure that they know they are in a safe environment wether their health be critical or not I am always willing to help.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love being around the Fire Engines and Ambulance and just getting to learn something new...

I don't have issues Facing Responders because I have never really responded to anything.... I had helped in the Fire Station when the Wild Fire Struck the town of Ordway

    Hey Cody... I would say go ahead and finish your training before you buy a blue light. I know the whole experience is really exciting right now and you probably want to put as many blue lights on your PV as possible... trust me... I was the same way. Just take it easy for now and see what else is out there as far as blue lights go... see what ya like before you buy anything. Why spend the money now when you cant use it just yet?

    No disrespect here brother... just trying to offer some advice cuz I was in the same boat as you when I got on a few years back.

    lmao dude. haha. i just did that to piss em off. maybe itll werk. lol. mines just a minitor V. its like a week old cuz the county just updated to the new high-band radio system. u menioned sumthin about a radio?? why do u have one?? for us, just the line officers, ems capt, saftey officer, fire police, and each air pack has a radio. u must be special. but there is a radio for all of the juniors on out new/old juniors truck (lol). we get all the old crappy ones tho

    awwwh that blows. im sorry to hear that =(. we dont get wildfires up my way lol. my company just had a fire too. a wiring harness was rubbing up against the steering column in one of our pumpers nd that caused a short then uuhhoohhhh. so we only got about 375g from the insurance company. =/
