About Me:
I join the Long Creek volunteer fire department in 1992 and begin taking training and answering the call to help out the people in the community. I got hired as a lieutenant with the City of Westminster FD in 1999. In 2001 was named the fire investigator for our city department. In Nov. 2008, we established the Oconee County Fire Investigation Task Force of which I am the President. I am married to Dawn Smith and have been for 16 years. We have to children. Daughter Julie Anna Smith age 9 and a son Austin Keith Smith age 3. I own and operate my own hardwood flooring business. I am also a Mona-vie juice distributor and would love to talk with anyone interested in earning some extra money. I am also a drummer in a gospel group and I am also a reserve police officer. I enjoy hunting, playing golf and spending time with my family.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I first got involved in the fire service because when I was dating my wife, her dad was a volunteer fire chief. He carried me on some calls with him and I got the itch.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is the greatest job in the world and we are able to help people in their time of need or disaster.
