About Me:
I joined KIVFD when I was 17 as a firefighter, eventually migrated to the EMS side of the department, with 17 years total before taking a brief sabbatical of 20 years. During this time I joined the Emergency Response Team at my employer, Northrop Grumman Corporation, advancing to the rank of Captain with 16 years of service there. Three years ago, I reapplied to the KIVFD and was reinstated to membership there, becoming a member of the board of directors, then Treasurer.
Day Job:
Process Assessor/ISO Auditor
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I've always found great satisfaction helping others, and flying down the road at break-neck speed with lights and sirens blaring!
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The adrenaline rush
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety - too many of us are still being killed or seriously injured due to our own or others negligence. Things like not buckling up in the apparatus, failure to wear the proper protective equipment, or lack of proper training is resulting in far too many deaths and injuries to fire and EMS personel.
Wow! I'm friends with a Northrop Grumman Fire Brigade Captain. How cool!!!! Hey Will. Good to see you on here. Something to do to keep us from the peanut butter cups LOL
Include you on what Captain Clark? I haven't had anything Reeses without you. I swear. I've been 100% faithful to you. Except for that little peanut butter chocolate foray with Larry last week. But I told you about it so I had amnesty. Its all good.
Well, I had a foray with two people last night. Ben and Jerry. Although it was NOT peanut butter in any way shape or form. It was some brownie cookie dough combination. Besides, I may be moving on from peanut butter soon. I'm on a new twix kick. Though I'm not sure carmel and I could ever form anything long term like peanut butter and I.
Not lately...Been a couple of months since we had big ones...We had a large boat fire and a 3-4 story condo. with multiple units destroyed on same day at same time. Boat fire was at one end of town, condo fire at the other. Since then, it's been pretty uneventful. Been having major bad wrecks since then, horrible icky-bad stuff. 'Bout ready for a good fire...
