Pro Board Certified Firefighter 1 & 2, VRT, Special Vehicle Rescue, Haz-Mat, Incident Safety Officer, Pump 1 & 2, Basic RIT. Just to name a few basics. The list goes on and on, I believe in training and continue to do so. Training breeds safety!
About Me:
My name is Eric Troutman, Jr and my radio designation is Chief 29. I'm 41 years old. I grew up in the fire service. It is pretty much all I do. My life revolves around the Fire Company. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and helping the next generation of firefighters, simply because a leader is only as good as those under his command.
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
It has been a family affair. I am a fifth generation firefighter. I am the first to be a line officer. I also find it to be very fulfilling to help others and give to the community.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is what I do and what I have always done. It is who I am
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety, and the time to take the needed training as a volunteer. The need to keep the people we have motivated as well as intise new members.

Asst 29. welcome to the FFN. Your comment is very true. As you can tell I step on toes, but aimed at constructive criticism. I also expect the same if I make a comment or statement that might not be exactly true or accurate.
Again welcome to the FFN. Stop over at the group Firefighter saloon.
not to be overly anal, But You said you enjoy the sound of pipe playing... Proper english would be... YOu enjoy either "The Pipes" or The Pipes being played, or Pipe Music... I guess it helps get rid of confusion of foklks who bang on H20 copper piping :) Like on "Tool TIme" lol Not sure, other then you know the folks on "that side of the pond" are quirky about terminology and language and since the traditions come from them... we tend to adhere to them as well.. I took them up back in 1990, needless to say the "whole thing has grown a little bit sincethose days, but Fire service groups have been the most amazing group of all..the groups in here (3) areall pretty slow,..but whoknows might take off someday...lol
Thanks for the add. Love to chat sometime about training. We travel all over and the Managing the Mayday for Incident Command - Strategic Considerations is a good one. Alot of people doing the RIT class but not much attention on training the officer's or command staff.
Meadville is about 1.5 hours north of pittsburgh and about 45 mins south of erie my department is a volunteer company in a town that assists a paid depertment we have only been in service for about 7 years now
It was easy to understand what you were saying. People just let your post in through their eyes but let it bypass the brain! I must admit, I've done that at times - but I get embarrased when I do...
Ok Il check it out. Nice page by the way. I have a buddy who moved here from PA he works on Mdeic 13 . I think he use to work for Cetronia EMS in Allentown. U trade patches?
Thanks for the welcome! I've heard a lot of god things about this site and I am looking for topics to cover on training nights. This site is supposed to have them, but I need to learn how to use it first. lol
