Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Swartz , Livingston county, Stat ems
My Training:
Clio Fire dept,
About Me:
Hmmm! I started in EMS dispatching dropped from college and became a EMT worked for three months at a transfer company ..left worked for stat that did 911 calls in the city of flint for three years..left went to what I thought would be a great job down to Livingston county ..bored..it' was nothing like the city had a baby came back to flint and now work for DVA in the city of flint as a paramedic .. All in all that's my career in a nut shell
Day Job:
MOTHER
Relationship Status:
Single
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Cullinary arts ...paramedic ...really not sure went to school to cook-dropped out and became a paramedic...I,m the only one in my family in this field.. In high school it was the furthest thing from my mind I wanted to simply be a good wife have a good job and be a mom..but I'm here now . I have a beautifull 2 year old girl and still single but I wouldn't change a thing . I figure God wanted me where I'm at and we are in the ride to gather so when the time comes maybe I'll find the right man that can understand the job I do and the hours I work .. I hope...
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Actually doing something worth while... that just might make a diffrence..
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Not getting paid what we our worth..Running out of people to do the job.
I bet you see alot of GSW's over in Flint. A couple of stabbings I'm sure. And being a married father, HELL YES BEING A SINGLE MOM IS A FULL TIME JOB!!! Nothing but respect for you. I couldn't imagine. Keep up the good work. Stay safe.
Hi Laura,
I'd say that you are doing a great thing out there in Flint! Yes, being a single parent is truly a job in itself!!! I never went to culinary school, but I do love to cook, just not for myself. I can cook for the entire nieghborhood, but for just one, it's not as much fun if you know what I mean.
Like you, I am the first in my family to become a member of the fire department, and at the tender age of 45 none the less!!!
Feel free to add me as a friend here on FFN...seeing as we are all brothers and sisters on this site.
Stay safe and be careful out there!
yeah i love that here in GR too...pretty crazy...almost applied for the Flint Fire job last year but I couldnt afford the pay cut...stay safe over there
well if you would stop going to other stations to get away from me i would have more fun. i do miss you a little bit, you get on here alot and how do you like this? talk to you later

Stay safe and best wishes to you in finding gainful employment.
Hi Laura,
Tennesee sounds good! I know what it is like to leave everything that you are familiar with behind, but sometimes it can be for the best. I moved away from all that was familiar to me, and now I'm very happy with my life and where I'm at. God does work in mysterious ways, so don't despair! Be safe out there and I'll say a prayer for you.
