Andy....Personally I like it...it is a little heavy and the glass breaker tip is sort of sharp...but you know you have a good tool in your hands when you pick it up...I used it to pull siding off a house at a fire...the cross cut teeth in the pliers are wonderful...I may try and modify a hammer carrier or tool carrier to see if it will hold them on the outside of my pants instead of the pocket...but so far no complaints whatsoever...Paul
Hey Andy
hi i saved a man in my home town in 95 he got electicutued 9000 volts
he passed away 2 or three years after i think from cancer. I also have a medal called vally forge cross . it is an equal to soldier medal but more a civilian award. it only took 8years to get it .lol the SM The pink one is alaska humanitry award have two of those one for save life and i was on rescue mission in Anchorage in 93-94 in state park looking for a lost girl and our team found her 24 hours later. So yeah I'm out know with 12 years of service had a chance to go to iraq but have high freq heaing loss.that was in 2005 was out in 17sep04
I was on for a little over two years Sep 88 to Dec 90. (I had to check my records.)
I see some familiar faces, but I'm terrible with names. The guy in back with the hat was the chief's son wasn't he? The guy next to him was a paramedic. I think the guy in the middle row, right side was a lieutenant while I was on. Front row with the hat was the assistant chief and the guy in the white shorts was the chief. You'll have to refresh my memory as far as names go. I do remeber Troy Rotramel.
I have a couple of pics that I'll try to get up on my page.
As far as my career... I was in the Air Force Reserve at Pete when I joined SHVFD. I joined the Lubbock Fire Department in December of 1990, and moved to Texas. I've been here since. I am now a Captain on a truck company. It's a little slower than being on an engine, but it has it's perks.
