Welcome to FFN Kelly. 14 years...nice! Stay safe and hold true to that desire to serve your community. Its a great feeling, when you can make a difference.
I have family in Knoxville. Also, my gggg-grandparents' (Linam) had a huge plantation outside of Lawrenceburg; alongside Granddaddy Creek.
Ok, so now its welcome to the Volunteer Firefighters Group. Ya know, I think I finally got it. When you join the FFN the object then becomes to sign-up with as many groups as you can. Ok, you're leading. Uh...I'll get back to you on that!
Hi from Aptos. Such as small little place, funny you've heard of it. I work in Los Gatos in Santa Clara county. What was your grandfather's name? Maybe I ran with him. Harry-
Hey Kelly! I grew up in Virginia with family in Roanoke, Danville, Stanton, and several Virginia mountain towns. I miss the fall colors. I think it is amazing that you are using your platform to educate America about fire safety! Keep up the good work, Stay Safe!
I have always had a passion for this myself either supporting my husband or as a firefighter. My husband has been a FF for going on 13 years now. He has held every position from Training officer to Lieutenant to Capt to Asst Chief. We just learned what the victim side of this is like. He was in an explosion while welding at his regular job. 2nd and 3rd degree over 10% of his body. All of his scarring is on his back and left arm, but we were sent home with me doing the burn debreeding (sp) and were told to be careful because a lot of marriages don't survive this. It was a long painful process but because we both understood, we got through it and love each other more because of it.
