You name it, I've probably done it. The more you train the better and safier you are on and off the fireground.
About Me:
Active in Public Education for the Fire Department. Especially with the School systems. Was recognised by the Govenor of Iowa for my efforts in educating the youth of Iowa in 2004. Love spending time with family and friends. Photography is a hobbie of mine. And love to train on all firefighting topics. The more you know the safier you are. Firefighter/EMT-B
Day Job:
Commercial Printer
Relationship Status:
Married
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
To help my community. And every since I was a young boy I was facinated by "Fire Trucks".
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Retention at the Volunteer level. It takes up so much of your time, and unless your doing because you want to and not because you want to "Be Cool" and drive the Big Red Trucks it' hard to keep them for very long. It's hard to juggle Work, Family, and Volunteer your services to your local Fire and EMS departments.
I welcome ALL firefighters who share the same passion for the fire service as I do, to drop me a line. This includes any of my past students from Fire Schools that I put through "hell" to make them better, smarter, and safer firefighters.
Just dropping you a quick note. I started classes again full time this fall. I am a sophomore now, actually almost a junior. I am still working towards my BS in Fire Science. I have another year before I graduate. Looking forward to it. I am studying Brannigan's Building Construction for the Fire Service right now, great book for a truckie! You should check it out! Have a good week and say hello to the family.
