- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- Initially I started just because it seemed interesting. I actually started on the EMS side of the house and didn't intend to fight fire at the time. I found myself at one point in the position of working for a fire department or not working at all, and it only took one fire after training for me to fall in love with it. Now, I can't imagine doing anything else.
- Why I Love Fire/EMS
- I love life at the station as well as being able to bring order to chaotic scenes.
- Top Issues Facing Responders:
- Firefighter safety, volunteer recruitment, retirement benefits

Went to my interview yesterday for Gwinnett county and it went very well. I had interviewed with 4 people. I dont' recall there names though, but one of the guys was very cool. He told me that they will be contacting me in about a week or so and he also told me that I did a real good job in my interview and that I had nothing to worry about. Just wanted to let you know how it went. Talk to you soon Capt. Stay low and Stay safe...

I just recieved an email from Gwinnett in regards to my status..I have been placed on the applicant register and will be notified when I will be moving on the the next step. My Capt. at my full time job (Troy Fire) recieved a letter of recommendation from Gwinnett yesterday so I hope that's a good sign. Gotta run...Stay Low and Stay Safe..Johnny B.
