Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I had a friend that was on the fire department and seeing what he was doing got me interested. And coming from a small town I have always had the urge to help others.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
The ability to help others, and the job itself.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of training and lack of money for training and equipment. Lack of time to attend training and fire department functions.

have a few ? about our training the last meeting seems from the weather class thursday we dont do our spotting right and dont report wat we see to them like that guy wanted. am i off base or do we need to look at this stuff and redo how we do things
I could be wrong, but it seems to me we go out to spot in the path of the storm. from wat he said we should go behind it and spot from there.
radio traffic makes it sound like we a going to were the storm is hitting ,leading me to think we are in the wrong areas to see wat we need to be looking at. from wat I got out of it we need not to see wat its puting down but wat the after math of wat came down and to spot the circulation of the clouds are doing in the rear were the tornadoes are going to be.
that came out wrong we need to report wat its doing but we need to be behind it to spot the tornadoes.
I must have missed the boat as usual I guess

Yes I'm going to be in the office Monday morning. I'm hoping to be there around 8:30 or so. As for your memory that tends to fade when you get older. And we both know we aren't getting any younger.
I'll have to go check the page out. I don't work county right now, but I am hoping to move into that arena with the retirement of the current director. Right now it's a one-man show, but it's got to grow. Dallas County is one of the top-ten fastest growing counties in the US right now.
Thanks, I appreciate it! I'm looking at completing the CEM from International Association of Emergency Managers right now. What's your opinion on the certification?
Well I'm about 45 mins south of New Orleans. And Baton Rouge is only about an hour away. So I guess it's close to me. I'm really not sure. So how was your Haz-mat training?
Well I think that you are the first to tell me the weather is awesome here! I'm glad you enjoyed your training. And there are a lot of places around here that are pretty cool to see. But it's not what is used to be. I remember cane fields everywhere and now they are houses, they're are still places though where you can see the old Louisiana. If you come down for vacation I can give you a list of places to go.
If we could get a few good runs our ffn sight might have a little more stuff. What do you think of it so far? I need to get some video footage up and some sort of audio. I would like to get a picture of all of us in our new dress uniforms together. If you have any ideas just let me know.
Hey sissy still fighting your cold I see. You missed one tonight, and of course it had to happen while the hummer is out of service go figure. but its ok I didnt make the truck either go figure... Its so much fun to waste the gas to drive down for nothing.
I dont know how that got on there it just all of the sudden appeared :-) Thanks for joining us for supper last nite, well I have to get ready to go to work yipee working seconds tonight...
