I have passion for helping people. I never really saw myself sitting behind a desk all day doing paperwork or anwering phones. Even through high school I couldnt deal with being in a classroom all day. So I transfered to a military academy. After I graduated I went on into the militay. I served a short period of time before recieving a medical discharge. When I came home I didnt want to just sit at home all day and do nothing. So I decided to do something about it. I went out serching for a job but nothing ever got my interest. A couple weeks after that a friend told me about the Vol Fire Department down my street. I didnt think much of it at first. Didnt even know if I could do it. But when I showed up for one of the mthy meetings everyone was so nice to me. I was acceped on, studied and worked my ass off. And here I am. 9mths later and cant see myself doing anything else. My passion for firefighting is so great that I devote most of my time to it. Tring to get as much experence as possible and as many certs as I can. I hope to one day soon work full-time for the department. But I guess only time will tell.
I will be starting EMT school next mth and am very excited. Like I said....I love helping people.

Welcome to the fire service. It’s is always great to see new faces. You never know you could be the first of many generations in your family to become a firefighter. Good luck with your classes and stay safe
