About Me:

I started my vol. career @ the age of 18 in my home town of Roscoe NY. After high school I tried college-- not for me, so I went to EMT school and started working @ Hudson Valley Ambulance in 1991. Went to Paramedic School in 1994 and took tons of fire classes. I moved to Florida in 1997 and started working @ Manatee County EMS as a Charge Paramedic. In 2003 I went to Fire School again in Florida and Recieved my Fire I/II. I still work for MCEMS as a Medic but now I get to work on the only ALS engine in our county. I now have the best of both worlds. I am currently the Vice President of the Myakka City Vol. Firefighters Association. I belong to the Manatee County First In Team ( We respond first after any disaster prior to Fire or EMS to clear paths and look for the injuried IE: hurricaines, tornados) and a Haz-Medic Officer/Tech for the county Haz-Mat team.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Because of my dad. He's been in the fire service for over 30yrs. Plus It's an AWESOME FEELING to help people in times of need.
