I was responsible for direction of the projects aimed at the implementation of the 16 firefighter initiatives designed to reduce firefighter line-of-duty deaths. I was also priviledged to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Association Fire Chief Safety and Health Section. I currently serve on Industrial Fire and Safety Section, New Jersey Society of Fire Service Instructors and I am member of the IAFC Life Safety Section. I also serve on two NFPA technical committees: Disaster/Emergency Management & Business Continuity and Laboratories Handling Chemicals, and immediate past chair the NFPA Executive Committee for the Lodging Industry Section. I was recently selected to revise two chapters in the twentieth edition of the world renowned NFPA Fire Protection Handbook.

I worked in the Pharmaceutical industry for 34 years serving as Industrial Fire Chief /Emergency Response Coordinator in manufacturing operations and as Corporate Staff, as Senior Fire Protection Engineer, and Global Program Lead for Life Safety-Loss Prevention-Emergency/Crisis Management. I also was Director of Training for Woodbridge Township and Middlesex County Fire Academy; a chief Fire Officer of Colonia ( District 12) Fire Department, Woodbridge Township for eight years. Top Issues Facing Responders:
The number #1 issue is being able to survive the job and to tell the great stories of our adventures to our grandchildren and anyone else who will listen ! There is tremendous peer pressure to stay the course that has resulted in over 100 of our brothers and sisters not being making it. However, change is in the air, a change that adds everyone goes home to the mission of saving lives and property. Because at the end of a day at the end of a call everyone has the right to go home. That's what it is really all about.
