Why I Joined Fire/EMS
A huge part of my family has been in it for years. I'm the first of the 3rd generation. My 4 uncles, and aunt are firefighters in my department. My grandfather and great uncle used to be in it, and my mother is fire police and auxilary. I've grown up around the fire house since I was a little kid and just was kind of absorbed into the department. I've wanted to be a member for many years. I love doing everything I can to help save lives. I don't know why, but as many of my firefighting friends can agree, being a firefighter is just addicting for some reason.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love doing everything I can to save lives, property, and the environment, and my fire department is like a family to me (besides the family members that are in it that actually are family).
Top Issues Facing Responders:
To know when to back down a bit and not risk our own lives too much, and not knowing when to stop fighting a fire after all lives have been saved so as to not risk our lives extensively for property because if we're not there to rescue the victims.
