Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Been around the fire service for my whole life. I joined as a sophomore in high school and its been a wild ride ever since. No longer searching for that elusive career firefighter spot. Recently got on as a Firefighter/EMT-B at the Naval Base nearby....FINALLY. Regardless of if I'm a volunteer or career, its the greatest job on earth and I wouldnt have it any other way.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
being able to make a difference in peoples lives and being a role model for young kids

I'm actually in SC these days; I left the Philly area in 1981 to take the job here. I guess I need to flip around the list of departments from current to first rather than first to last.
  • Mick Mayers

They're just great; I went ahead and flipped the departments over anyway. I think it looks better.

I like riding the truck more then the engine but also like riding the rescue. Usually try to hit up the truck before anything though. Best kind of work there is
