About Me:
I was hired in Quincy Florida as their first female firefighter in 1998. At the time I was in the AirForce reserves and was activated after 911. I ended up in Fort Walton Beach Florida after my activation and started fightingfire at Ocean City-Wright fire dept. in 2003. Then in 2005 I was deployed to Iraq with my reserve unit for 4 months. When I returned there was an opening for a LT. position in the Fire Prevention dept. So I proceeded to get my inspectors certification and got the job. 2 years later an opening for a new Fire Marshal came at SouthWalton FD. I applied for it and suprisingly they hired me, but changed the position title to Life Safety Coordinator and lowered the pay?!! Well 16 months later after making my mark in SWFD .I was hired to be Fire Marshal in Fort Walton Beach, Fl. I am currently very happy working here. I work with a great bunch of guys and gals. FWBFD will be my home from now on.
