I have just taken the public relations position and am hoping to do a good job. I have also volunteered to be the chair for fire prevention week as well as recruting new volunteers. I really hope that I can do a great job at that as well.
I am also a mother of two my son Dominick who is 8 and my daughter who is 6. Both already interested in being on the dept. My husband has been on the dept for about 9 years now and is 2nd Captain.
Day Job:
I have a 24/7 job. I take care of my two wonderful children.

I think you will do fine in the EMT basic class. It sounds like you will have plenty of time to learn everything you need. I know when I took the EMT class there was plenty of time to practice our skills. I have been an EMT-B for 14 years now and have to recert in a week.
As a rule of thumb remember this and apply it for the rest of your career. The general public will fail to recognize accomplishments, and the saves made, but will be the first one to point a finger of blame or negligence. Always remain professional, and keep your crew on the same level. Train all you can, and keep doing what you do. Nobody can take the personal knowledge of all you have done away from you, and the self satisfaction and dedication to helping others will continue to make your rescue efforts worth doing. Keep up the great work, and stay safe
