Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I joined to be a part of the community and do something fun. I have also wanted to be a firefighter for as long as I can remember. I finally am on a fire dept. I am a Firefighter 2 on the Lake Mills Volunteer Fire Dept.
Why I Love Fire/EMS: The feeling I get from helping someone in need
Top Issues Facing Responders:: The need for good people to volunteer in the smaller communties and the amount of salary for those in the bigger cities. The pay does not seem to match the amount of training and time put into the job.
