Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I came in the back door. I used to work with Hospice as a volunteer for patients and decided helping people was for me.....but that was the wrong end of the life span for me. I cried too much! So I took a First Responder class and just after finishing that, my first patient was my son at 2 1/2 years old.....he is now 16 years old. Without the training, I'm not sure if he would be alive today. Everything happens for a reason I guess. Here I am, loving every minute of it.
