Welcome to the Nation!! Guess what. I grew up in Torrington, CT. Same spelling. Cool! How big is your town? Torr, CT is approx. 36,00 last time I looked, don't live there anymore, but my mother is still there. Looking forward to chatting soon.

glad to meet ya Jeff. That is beautiful country that you are from. I have been there on MC a couple times.

My wifes family is from Colorado. Her cousin lives in Manatou Springs, and her uncle lives in Beuna Vista. We spent 2 weeks there last year just enjoying ourselves. We did a lot of fun stuff on that vacation.

Good luck on the paid department. It really is a great career. I am looking at retiring in a year or so. It will be with mixed emotions that is for sure. My body is telling me it is time to go, but the mind still thinks I am 20. lol
  • Dogg32

We will see how it goes. I can retire anytime now, I am still having fun. I am presently assigned to ladder 32 on our east side. It is one of the slowed companies, ( only 40 working fires this year) If my back healy well enough I plan to go back to an inner city ladder Co.

My first assignment was engine 2 downtown. I got a lot of good experience there, Station 2 runs two engines, a ladder, a heavy rescue, a medic unit, the Battalion Chief and the bomb squad all out of the same station. I was able to work a lot of different assignments , and able to learn from a bunch of good aggressive guys.

Columbus is the largest city in the State, with a population of approx. 800k, the metro area is double that. We have 32 fire houses with 34 engine Co's, 15 ladders, 32 medic units, 7 battalions, 5 heavy rescues, we average around 400 runs daily

    Have a Great Thanksgiving!
  • Dogg32

Thanks Jeff, and I hope that your thanksgiving is good also. We just got back from the inlaws. Had the traditional meal, good food and good company, I guess that is as good as it gets.

Hello. How are you doing tonight?
  • Dogg32

Hey Jeff hows it hangin"? It's -4 here with 6"of snow yesterday. It is a little early for this type weather here, but WTH take it as it comes. Hope all is well on your end. Latr. Dogg

Hey Jeff how are things going out west? We are having a bit of a storm here. Northern Ohio 12-14" Central around 6. We are having freezing rain which sucks, I would much rather have the snow. Having a Sutphen platform truck sliding down the Rd. is not fun anymore.

Hey Jeff, We were in Torrington Saturday for the motorcross. My kids were riding four wheelers. luckily no major wrecks. It was weird not having to do EMS at the same time.
