It's a learning experience. Just listen to those in charge and keep a level head. Don't overstep your boundaries. You'll be alright.

First bit of advice, lose the words I, my, me from your vocabulary when speaking to a group and replace them with We, Our etc. Learn a good approach to people wheh you need them to do something, personally I prefer "can you do me a favor" or "I need you to do me a favor". It's a fine line to be an officer, cause now you are an enforcer of the rules. It makes it hard to be buddy buddy with everyone. There is really a lot to consider in being an officer, too much for here so if you have any more questions feel free to ask
  • Justin

Been a firefighter for 5 years.
