About Me:
I've been involved with the Emergency Services for about 18 years now between NJ & PA, just completed Firefighter II certification. I actually should be dead for the actions I have taken in a fire. They were not the smartest thing I did. Now, I still fight aggressively, but with more knowledge of my surroundings & the telltale signs of problems. I will never put or ask anyone to go into a situation that I wouldn't do.

Medical Claims Processor

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
When I was about 2 years old, I had to have my eyes operated on to strengthen the muscles. When I returned home from the hospital, my cousin who was a career firefighter with PAFD drove the brand new Snorkel 1 to my house for me to see. That put the spark in me. When my father was diagnosed with cancer 20 years ago, I wanted to do all I could for him. I first joined a rescue squad, then a second one & eventually joined the fire department. Since then, I have dedicated my life to saving others.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
being in the right place at the right time to help someone who needs it.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
recruiting & retaining serious volunteers. I also believe that alcohol does not have a place in the station nor on scene. We all like to party & have a good time, but why put yourself or someone else in harm's way while under the influence. let's use some common sense out there!

Thanks. The division we fought fire on on the Zaca fire had a mountain fully engulf that had a 60-70 degree incline. We laid 10,000feet of hose up that thing. It was an insane climb especially with 100foot flame lengths ripping up the slope infront of you.

Hey Big Joe, thanks for the add, howizit going in Penn ? I read your blog on garage fire, nothing like a little early morning quick knockdown to start your day ! A F.O.G. like you should have a probie on the nozzle and just stand behing him and hold on to his collar and push him the right direction like you would a monitor! I know, you aren't ready to give up that nozzle yet.
Eyes open sideways always, go Steelers?

That would be great. Our haunted house dates are September 28,29 and October 5,6,12,13,19,20,26 and 27th. Due to the fireworks being rained out for Coolbaugh Celebrates this past weekend. I believe they have been resceduled for the 29th. I will double check and let you know. Have a great day.
