Ah that photo of the Mack brings back the story of the modifications they went through trying to get one of the (then) newer trucks to fit. It was too high so at some great expense they ripped up the existing floor and lowered, new concrete, etc.
The finally got to back in the new truck into the now modified station and oh no, its too long to get the front door closed.
Far too many chiefs involved in making some of those decisions.
Nice Group, and Yes I am sure it will Grow with time.. Mack Fire apparatus has a LoNg history inmany parts of the states (and beyond of course) and In many departments, Greater Boston, NYC, New Jersey, Pa. Fleets relyed On the dependability of Mack Trucks for years.. Our Last purchase was 5 1982 CF Macks 1500gpm pumps and 500g. one was sold to a neighboring community for refurb, two is still in reserve service (somehow) each saw heavy service and then "retired to "slower" companies, often times as reserve pieces did as much as when they were 1st line I'll be adding some pics as I am able to Currently our historical society owns 2 Mack L's from the late 40's early 50's and prior to the 50's all the Tiller Tractors were Macks.. The newist, of these.. shown above a 1944 Mack Tractor Pullin an old school American La France 100' wooden stick
