Im a line officer with a small rural volunteer dept. Recently it was brought to my attention that some of my guys are getting bored with training. Does anyone have any new training ideas that may catch the attention of my dept?
I agree with some repitition in training gets old but it's a catch 22 you will know exactly what to do but changing it up helps maybe try to involve your members in training ideas best results for me
If they're bored with it then they're in the wrong line of business! But either way, it's good to change the training methods up once in a while. Running drills, simple strength training, reading, completing workbooks, watching video of scenarios, etc.. the job is what it is, that won't change much, but keep the approach to it differing from day to day. There are tons of firefighter training books and DVDs online that you can use.
