Hey there, Im Nick Carnahan, Ill get a picture here as soon as possible. But just thought I look at this. I just joined onto Orland Indiana's fire department in January, its been one hell of a ride so far, lookin to more too.
I am a volunteer in a small community. We are having issues with our local government. Our village president fired out pump operator and our cheif. He then forced our assistant cheif into retirement. The next thing he did was appo9int himself as the cheif and his buddy as asst. cheif. He is ruining our dept. He doesnt want us to wear our PPE, and he also won't answer any calls. Before when we needed money for equipment or training it wasn't there now all of a sudden we have all the money in the world. I am half tempted to turn in my pager and find a new dept. but I don't want to let down my community. Any advice would be helpful.

Hello, im a Vol. for a small town in west central IL we are a fire protection district for a rual area, i recently joined my department we have 2 stations with approx. 30 men active. I thought i would say hi as i just recently joined
Hi everyone, I am a paid fireman with the county gov. and volunteer with the city gov. They have mutual aid agreements and work together fairly well. And remember some people are firefighters and others are on the fire department. Know the difference and stay safe.
