went out on a call the other day (MVA) truck struck a utility pole due to icy roads. the young couple escaped the vehicle in the short interval before the auto-recloser re-nergized the lines. the vehicle then burned as the power came back on before the engine arrived(rural area) this couple escaped with only minor scrapes and bruises. I think someone was watching out for them.
Its one of these cases where i wish i could have told them just how lucky they were.
it was a 10 kv line that was laying on their truck. and the re-closer was set to 3 minutes
