What can i do to make my N5a fit better. I had a medium, bought a large, I want the leather to fit lower on my head. I removed the rachet, and the pad. Flaten out the Brim maybe?

I doubt that flattening out the brim will make the helmet fit better. If you took out the crown pad their isn't much else you can do. Are you wanting it to fit lower on your head or just fit tighter on your head? You can add the foam pads that they include in the boxes if you are wanting it to fit snugger.
which pad are you refering to? The pad around the helment or the pad in the center of the helment??
I want it to fit lower. The pad i would take out would be the top pad.
There isn't much else you can do other then buy one of the earlier 90's helmets which sat lower on your head.
shit!
You could cut the suspension straps on your current helmet BUT I would NOT do this as it does not keep it OSHA approved and ruins the helmet.
the top pad which is attached to the cross suspension is Not nessisary The "muffin" ... you must havea big head to wear a large... the pad can be cutoff/away from the nylon X straps but dont cut the suspension oryou'll be SOL, the other option it have your ears raised...
I roll the earflaps so there not tucked into the helmet. This made mine set lower. Keeping the rachet will hold the efs up. Theres a few guys in my dept. that cut the earflaps out. Personaly I wouldnt go that route.
