Starting a firefighter career over 40

For those over 40 that started late but can keep up with the best. Why did you start so late in life? Are we crazy? What does your family think? Is training harder?

I started 5 years ago . I have always wanted to become a firefighter. When I was a young child, my best friend's dad was a firefighter in Colo.We were always at the station.I was involved in a head-on accident with a drunk driver that ended my chances until I moved here and got involved with the best dept. in the world. They have supported me and allowed me to grow.I owe them alot and hope that I can give back for at least 40 years.God bless to all and be safe.
